TOM HAMMER is a school counselor in an elementary school in Chester, PA and was a high school physics and math teacher and middle school counselor. He has led men's groups and a support group for people with AIDS and has training in community organizing.
Tom spent his honeymoon (first marriage) at Woodstock, which was his only claim to fame according to many of his students. His most infamous physics demonstration was probably lying on a bed of nails (very little blood was involved.) He loves to travel, go out to dinner, watch and discuss movies, and talk about current events. He reluctantly exercises regularly. Favorite places to travel have been Italy, Colorado, and the Grand Canyon, where he barely survived two trips down the rapids in a wooden boat. Tom spent a year living in community in Maine and apprenticed as a carpenter. The house he helped restore continues, somehow, to stand to this day. He has a dog, a rescue from the SPCA, which loves all people and other dogs, strangers or friends. Tom's latest project is, belatedly to learn Spanish.
Barbara and Tom have over nineteen years of training and experience in peer counseling. They have three children, 25, 26, and 30.

Deborah Dehghan has a new job as assistant to the Superintendent of a major school district in north Delaware. She previously worked for a world-wide financial institution headquartered in Wilmington, DE, where she was a lead facilitator and program manager the last five years. For approximately 20 yrs. prior to that she was adjunct faculty at the University of Delaware, both in the continuing education and computer information sciences departments, as well as principal in a local consulting business. She is active in her church, the Unitarian Universalist Society of Mill Creek, in Hockessin, DE, as a lay minister and member of the Social Concerns Committee.
She has two daughters, ages 29 and 27, of whom she is in awe. Within the past year her mother came from NC to live with her. Debbie likes to read and cook and interact with all types of people. She enjoys music of all types, although she is not a musician; she is advocating member discounts for those who can't hold a tune in a bucket!

JODY HILL works as a bilingual nurse in a unique free clinic in West Chester, totally supported by private funds, where she works long, very fulfilling hours. She learned Spanish while she lived in Bolivia for a year. Her life is very full--one of her favorite activities is to travel with a friend to a new part of the world. She keeps fit by swimming, and she has recently taken up running. One of her favorite activities is leading a Girl Scout troop made up of Hispanic girls from Kennett Square. She was one of our early Equity Members. She is currently Treasurer of Concord Village, but she has no plans at the moment for becoming the CFO of a major corporation.

Mike and Lydia Rehrman:
Mike Rehrman is an electrical engineer for a local high tech company designing control systems for manufacturing equipment. He is the father of two sets of twins (3 girls and 1 boy) that he enjoys spending time with and watching grow. In his spare time (yes, with two sets of twins there is a little spare time) he enjoys doing yard work, and building and fixing things in his garage (sacred space!). Someday he would love to restore a classic car, preferably a sixties muscle car like the '67 Chevy Malibu that he used to own (before the rust overtook the rest of the car).
Lydia Rehrman is a stay at home mom of two sets of
twins...4 years old and 2 years old. While they keep her busy running to local parks and libraries, doing lots of arts and crafts, reading about a thousand books a day, and doing all of the other things that moms do, she finds time to also 'putz' in her organic garden (weed garden most of the time!), bake, and read. Prior to becoming the mother of 4 beautiful children, Lydia was an elementary school teacher and Spanish teacher. BC (before children), she and her husband Mike used to love to bike, hike (especially in the White Mountains of New Hampshire), and camp, and someday (post potty training), they hope to share these loves with their new little loves!

Steve Welzer and Laura Houck currently uphold the Jersey contingent among C.V. E.M.'s (Concord Village Equity Members). They live in East Windsor, NJ. Steve works for the state government in Trenton. Laura is lucky to be able to walk to work at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in town.
Steve has been a social change activist for almost four decades. He became interested in the cohousing/ecovillage movement based on a belief that the best hope for social and ecological responsibility lies with a renewal of community values and a feeling for a particular place-on-earth. Laura loves gardening on the particular place called "the backyard of our little half-acre." They have two daughters who currently live in the particular places called Mexico and South Korea.

Janet is an Information Systems Architect, and
struggles valiantly to balance that with being a
mother to Kira and Elise, and participating in
any of her numerous interests. She gardens
organically, does home canning, and raises
tilapia and herbs in a recirculating Aquaponics
(Aquaculture + Hydroponics) system of her own
design in the sunroom. If there were even more
hours in the day, she would be knitting, sewing, or reading.
Vic is a Computer Programmer/Analyst who loves
good old COBOL, and disdains modern computer
languages named after hot beverages. He likes
B-grade movies and a good micro-brewery stout –
the thicker and darker, the better. He would
probably brew more beer himself except the
micro-breweries are doing such a good job these
days, and when he does brew, he doesn't like to
scrub the malt-splatters off the kitchen floor.
Kira (age 7) likes horses and writing her own
stories. Her latest title is “Polution”, a foray
into environmental awareness and proper waste
disposal methods. She is very excited to be in
second grade this year and to be continuing
lessons in Chinese school. Kira is very proud
that she was born in Guangxi, China, and that her
parents then had to come find her to bring her home.
Elise (age 4.5) likes princesses, pretty dresses,
and talking (non-stop). She is a social butterfly
who runs the show pretty much anywhere she goes.
She has started Chinese school with Kira, and is
excited to be taking Chinese dance, too. Elise
enjoys looking at the pictures of her adoption from Shaanxi, China
